Introducing Cristiano

June 30, 2010

What more can be said about gorgeous little Cristiano except for the fact that I wish I could adopt him because hes soo darn cute. Cristiano is quickly becoming one of my favourite little models and as some of you may have noticed he has been on this blog before.

One of my best friends Jodie (thanks xo) contacted me when she heard I was looking for newborns to photograph as her friends have just had a lovely baby boy. First time parents Lisa & Steven had Cristiano around 4 weeks early so when it came time for his photoshoot, 4 weeks later, he was the perfect size.

One of the recommendations with newborns is to arrange their session within the first 2 weeks of their life. I more than understand that the first two weeks can be very hectic, with a new bub comes a new “routine” – or lack of one. The advantage of w session within this time is generally and I mean very generally, bubs at this age are very willing to cuddle up and sleep whilst I snap away.

Cristiano wasn’t big on snuggling up at this stage, no matter how warm the room was, until we introduced him to the magic basket where he just floated away to the land of Nod. To parents who discount this option thinking it is quite posed I say give it a go as you never know how the photos will turn out.

Of course a newborn baby isn’t going to sleep for the whole photoshoot, so mum & dad are called in for lots of cuddles and a feed, usually followed by a few expected *accidents*. My last piece of advice for a newborn session right now is to be prepared for a longer portrait session as they usually go for 2 hours.

I hope you’ve enjoyed viewing this session as much as I did taking it. If you’re interested in a newborn session email the studio with your details and we would be glad to try and work into your schedule.
